Norma Pagaran Ganut Soriano, 73, was called home Thanksgiving morning surrounded by her loving family at the Anne & Donald McGraw Center for Caring.

Born October 24th, 1943 in Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte, Philippines, to Engr. Fausto A. and Anastasia P. Ganut, Norma graduated with a BS in Nursing from Southwestern University, Cebu City, PI. Headstrong and independent, she followed her love of travel and adventure to Christ Hospital in Philadelphia, PA as part of a nursing exchange program. Norma Pagaran Ganut Soriano, 73, was called home Thanksgiving morning surrounded by her loving family at the Anne & Donald McGraw Center for Caring.

Born October 24th, 1943 in Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte, Philippines, to Engr. Fausto A. and Anastasia P. Ganut, Norma graduated with a BS in Nursing from Southwestern University, Cebu City, PI. Headstrong and independent, she followed her love of travel and adventure to Christ Hospital in Philadelphia, PA as part of a nursing exchange program. Soon after, she made a life in Jersey City and NYC. On a suggestion from a friend, she drove from Brooklyn to Mayport to meet handsome US Navy seaman, Mario Z. Soriano, San Nicolas, Pangasinan, PI. They married and raised a daughter, Maramay G. Soriano, and a son, Mario G. Soriano Jr.. After retiring from Shands Hospital, Norma enjoyed her time as a member of Fort Caroline Baptist Church, watching movies, and exercising her creative gardening, flower arranging, and jewelry making. She especially revelled in travelling and spending time with her friends and family. Norma loved and was loved.

Along with her husband and children, she is survived by her sister, Lydia G. Rogando (Alexis M.), Daraga, Albay, PI; brother, Efren P. Ganut (Marissa); aunt, Josefina P. Velasco (Proceso I.); daughter-in-law, Susan E. Soriano; and puppy, Easter Sundae.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 2nd, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 at 3pm. Both will be held at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills, 850 St Johns Bluff Rd. N. Jacksonville, FL 32225.
